The Irish Oak -
3511 N. Clark St. - Chicago (Wrigleyville)
Report this commentWhile this is certainly a fantastic bar with every import imaginable (try a Boddington's), the real secret is the food as they have outstanding sandwiches. Often a favorite for pre-game meals...but is great after the game too. Just steps from Wrigley Field....

10pin bowling lounge -
330 N. State St. - Chicago (River North)
Report this commentThis is more of an upscale bowling experience with decent food that you can order while you play. But the really cool thing is that if there's a Cubs or Bears game on you can watch as the huge TV's are just above the pins.

Signature Lounge -
875 N. Michigan Ave. - Chicago (Magnificent Mile)
Report this commentInstead of paying for the boring observatory in the John Hancock Building, just head to the Signature Lounge and buy a drink. It's only one floor below and if you can get a table by the window even better. Pricey drinks but you can say it was "free" if you were going to pay for the observatory anyway. Great couple's option for at night.

Report this commentThis place came highly recommended from a good friend and we were not disappointed. Great Sandwiches in a fun, Roscoe Village location.

La Bamba -
2557 N. Halsted St. - Chicago (Sheffield/De Paul)
Report this commentWith burritos as big as your head, this is the place for "when the bars close" in College....but they also have one right in the city. Personally, I think one of the best burritos in the world. Best after a few beers....

Buddy Guy's Legends -
754 S. Wabash Ave. - Chicago (South Loop)
Report this comment"Nobody leaves without singin' the blues"....Just a good place for some Chicago blues....order a Pabst Blue Ribbon, kick back and relax. Enjoy the show!

Billy Goat Tavern -
430 N. Michigan Ave. - Chicago (River North)
Report this commentThis is a MUST visit location for a cheezeburger and a beer...plus you can learn the history of why the Cubs have not won a world series since 1908. And check out some of the Royko columns on the wall...you'll LOL....and you'll then want to stop by a book store and buy the compilation of Royko colums in a book. This writer was one of Chicago's best ever--

Club Lucky -
1824 W. Wabansia Ave. - Chicago (Bucktown/Wicker Park)
Report this commentA huge shout out to our good friend Colleen to let us know about this unbelievable neighborhood Italian restaurant. The "lucky" martini has to be one of the best in the city....and it's won a few awards that back that up. Served family style, what a fantastic way to "carb up" before a marathon...which is exactly what my wife and some friends did before the big race. A must visit if you are looking for a good Italian experience!
