When in Lakeview

So technically I live in the suburbs. Ick. But when I crash with my sister in the city, these places usually make the short list.

    Eat-A-Pita - 4 1/2

    3155 N. Halsted St. - Chicago

Greek style chicken pita. I get it every time. Yummy.

    Giordano's - 1 1/2

    1040 W. Belmont Ave. - Chicago (Lakeview)

I've had horrible service here before, but I don't care. The deliciousness of this Chicago deep dish pizza never changes.

    Nookies Tree - 4 1/2

    3344 N. Halsted St. - Chicago (Boystown)

Almost always open, and about 500 times better than Clarke's (down the street and around the corner, might take 2 hours to get your food). It's a straight up diner, but feels a little bit cleaner and less greasy.

    Vic Theatre/Brew & View - 4

    3145 N. Sheffield Ave. - Chicago (Lakeview)

Brew and View is awesome. Drink beers, watch campy movies and talk through the whole thing.

    Big City Tap - 3

Will gladly hang out here on a weekday night, but on the weekend, all the bros take up too much oxygen.

    Bittersweet - 3

Great pastries, quiche and other treats. A little pricey, but good to go every once in awhile for a treat.

Catch a sing-along or classic black and white film. Screw the multiplexes.

Fun for poking around for some quirky vintage clothes. Around Christmastime, they've got the best ironic Christmas sweatshirts/vests/sweaters straight from grandma's closet.
