Harpo, home to the "Oprah Winfrey Show," is the only studio complex in the world owned by an African-American woman. Along with Phil Donahue, Winfrey led modern television into its current talk show craze, and has maintained her integrity.
Winfrey purchased this former armory in 1988, renovating it into a state-of-the-art production facility. "The Oprah Winfrey Show" is the only show regularly produced at these facilities. Ticket reservations may be made up to one month in advance. Tape days are usually Tues, Wed. and Thurs. The show is usually on hiatus in the summer.
