Sure, the movie won the Academy Award for Best Picture, but so did "Million Dollar Baby" a couple of years ago, and you don't see Clint Eastwood euthanizing a female boxer every week on cable TV. The first sign that this spin-off series was doomed? Three minutes into the pilot, when co-star Dennis Hopper exposes himself in the back of a limo—followed by the sound of a million remotes clicking off Starz in unison.
