'Gossip Girl'... in 'The O.C.'?

Exhibit D: Nate Archibald = Luke Ward

"Gossip Girl" hunkster Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) plays lacrosse and bears no relation to former NBA Boston Celtic Nate "Tiny" Archibald. But Nate and his counterpart on "The O.C." Luke Ward (both played by former male models) could be close cousins.

Though Luke (Chris Carmack, lately of "Desperate Housewives") started out as an undeveloped antagonist, uttering the famous catchphrase "Welcome to The O.C., bitch!" in the series premiere, his character deepened considerably when his dad came out of the closet. Just as Nate's did, when his (equally stern, equally respectable) father turned out to be a secret cokehead.
