A major theater complex since its construction in 1986, this three-stage entertainment center houses a Broadway-sized mainstage, a very comfortable cabaret space and the compact upstairs Gallery Theatre, a studio space. The mainstage has been the scene of such major Midwest premieres as Tony Kushner's "Angels in America," Neil Simon's "Lost in Yonkers," Ken Ludwig's "Lend Me a Tenor," "Smokey Joe's Cafe," Paul Rudnick's "I Hate Hamlet" and "Forever Tango." The Cabaret has been the happy host of the long-running, aggressively nostalgic "Forever Plaid" revue and the upstairs Great Room has hosted "Flanagan's Wake," an interactive Irish comedy. The spaces are comfortable, with excellent sight lines and acoustics.
