The Congress Theater is one of the most beautiful examples of theater architecture in Chicago -- airy lobby, balcony, dome above the audience. The Congress has been several different theaters and at least once a church. Now independent promoters book a variety of bands, including indie and Latin, as well as high-profile DJs. Hours, beverages, admission prices -- everything varies according to who's playing. So just keep your eyes on the marquee or call for the schedule.
