Funny Schtuff!

I went on a date to see this show Sat. night and it went great! I wasn't sure what to expect. She just kept insisting that I don't make her "get up on stage" but by the end of the night she was yelling out suggestions louder than anyone. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!

We almost stayed for the next show, but got too hungry. (Sorry, guys!) But the show was awesome!

Comedy Sportz = Good Times With Friends

I took a group of friends to our first Comedy Sportz show Saturday night. We came for the 10 o'clock, loved what we saw, so the group consensus was to stay for the midnight show and we didn't regret it.

We had all been to improv shows before, so we knew we'd be asked for a suggestion, but the audience participation didn't end there. Halfway through the show one of my buddies was on stage playing right along with the masters.

The combination of a great staff bringing us drinks throughout the show and solid improv led to an unforgettable night.

I laughed so much with the skits I almost pee'd myself. It's the truth. I really enjoyed the interaction with the audience and the energy of the comedians. It's a great place for a good laugh and the drinks are reasonable.

First I want to say that I love the new theater. I have been going to shows for a long time and the aspect that never fails to amaze me is how smart you have to be to be funny. The ComedySportz show as always was entertaining and the energy gives you chills. However, I had to stay for the late night Hot Karl because it is more my style of humor. The Hot Karl goes beyond dirty and is always hilarious. I love being alble to stay after and hang with the performers. The new bar definitely kept me there late.

Making up scenes on the spot for regular improv is hard enough. But when you add a variety of games with specific rules, creating LOL improv becomes even more challenging. Yet the ensemble at ComedySportz succeeds every time in coming up with clever, intelligent humor. Audiences are more invested in shows than at other improv places because they contribute so many suggestions and are in on the game. They want to see their favorite players succeed.

Comedysportz is definitely a breath of fresh air in this city. Some theaters have become so stale in the city that you have to have seen 4 or 5 shows to know why a scene is funny. Here I feel like topical mixes with high energy to create a level of comedy unparalleled by anyone else. The new theater is amazing. There isn't a bad seat in the house. They definitely thought about how to make the absolute best out of this perfect space. I can't wait to go see the next show!

It is a funny show. We got there the 1/2 hour early like they said, but really didn't need to be there, because couldn't be seated until it was suppose to start. They tend to pick the same group of people for responses all the time, so it made the sketches a little boring. The theater is also very small, so I really felt like I was sitting a little close to my neighbor who would spit on me everytime she laughed.

I absolutely love ComedySportz. It is the most interactive improv show I have seen in Chicago - which is probably the reason my little sister adores it as well. Its great for kids and smart enough for adults so all audiences are impressed and have fun! The players make sure they bring the audience along on their journey on stage which is so important. Feeling like I am not only watching the show but a part of it makes me enjoy a show so much more. And there are always moments on stage at ComedySportz shows that I am telling my friends and family about for weeks to come. I highly recommend ComedySportz for anyone who enjoys a good laugh after a long work week!

This show is HILARIOUS!! My family was recently in town and I did not know where to take them where we could all have fun. My friend told me about ComedySportz so I decided to give it a shot. Im so glad I did. When they played "5 Things" I almost fell out of my chair. Ill definitely be back.
