Invitation to a Stranger, performed at the Chicago Center for the Performing Arts was a huge success. Written by national award winning writer, Safia Bernard, directed by Emmy award winning Actress, Deanna Reed, and performed by a cast of outstanding talent with performance credits from The Goodman Theater, ETA Creative Arts Foundations, The Black Ensemble and the Steppenwolf Theater, to name a few. As the lights dimmed, the audience embarked upon a roller coaster of twists and turns, keeping them on the edge of their seats with anticipation. One lady commented, “I’m pretty good at figuring out endings, but I never saw this one coming, it was excellent!” Closing weekend sold out - attracting many repeat attendees. A job well-done!!

The show & dancing was off the hook, I enjoyed seeing young positive black men & women come together on professional level, the show was nice but people PLEASE leave your kids( toddlers) at home; not the place, hire a babysitter. I was upset by this because the kid was louder than the performers. I was enjoying the dances scenes and music but the stage dialogue was almost mute from this loud mouth kid. At one point I almost asked for a refund. Please Chicago Center for Performing Arts fits this by stating no kids(Toddler) after 7pm.

See Madame X at the Chicago Center for Performing Arts. It just opened last week and I have already seen it four times. It is an awesome world premiere musical drama. A must see for musical theater lovers. The entire production is awesome in every way.I highly recommend this show. The actors are amazing. The live band is wonderful. The costumes, scenery,lighting, everything about the production works very well.You can learn more about the show at their website www.SeeMadameX.com and also can purchase the CD online. I listen to it every day constantly. This is a must see and I bet you will want to see it more than once too...Enjoy the show. I know I did. I would go back and see it every night if I could.
