Victory Gardens Biograph Theater: User Reviews

Victory Gardens took one of Chicago’s most historic and visited locations--a building added to the National Registration of Historic Places in 1984--and obliterated every vestige of the reason it was declared historically significant in the first place. I attended one of the theater's mediocre performances--my first and last. As I was leaving, I met a family from out-of-state who came to see the location where John Dillinger (or a man the FBI misidentified as Dillinger–depending on which story one believes) was killed. Needless to say, they were diappointed. Many Chicagoans are wondering why the Chicago Historical Commission doesn’t force Victory Gardens to place some emphasis on the Dillinger shooting, but for which the building would likely have been razed long ago.
