A simple, black-box theater space, the University of Illinois at Chicago Theatre seats 250 people. As part of its educational mission to provide drama instruction for its students as well as entertainment for the community, the UIC Theatre presents classic and contemporary works in four shows per season. The theater has presented Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," Mikhail Bulgakov's "The Master and Margarita," Maxim Gorky's "The Lower Depths" and Lanford Wilson's "Rimers of Eldritch."
