Founded by Northwestern University theater students in 1982, this company loves to tell stories, often vibrantly and warmly. Under the guidance of former producing director Meryl Friedman and current artistic director Dorothy Milne, its many adaptations have included both literary classics and favorite childhood sagas as well as sardonically hip material. Lifeline's MainStage plays have received more than 100 awards and nominations and the American Alliance for Theatre and Education awarded Lifeline's KidSeries their national Sara Spencer Award in 2003 for sustained and exceptional achievement. The comfortable theater has excellent acoustics, sight lines and air conditioning.
