Bank of America Theatre

Neighborhood: Loop

The former Shubert Theatre reopened in the spring of 2006 after an expensive makeover and a new name (LaSalle Bank Theatre), which has changed once more in May 2008. Changing names aside, the vintage showplace, built in 1906, is still one of the country's major touring Broadway houses. The lobby is small, but the auditorium, with its excellent sight lines and fair acoustics, is an ornate palace of the arts, just as the Shubert brothers intended it to be almost a century ago.
