The play was very good, songs were great, but . . do not sit in the balcony. Staging is often too far forward to be seen, The seats are one behind the other and the bobbing of heads of those in front of you results in a near aerobic workout to see the performance. When staging was at leat 10 feet back from the stage front, it was much more visible and enjoyable. Too bad no one tested watchability with a real audience before picking the seating arrangements upstairs. There were also portions where the acoustics were inadequate and I was unsure why other than the probability that the actors forgot there were people in the "cheap seats".
Report This ReviewWent on Friday night. Of all of Chicago's theaters this one, at least in the Mezz section, has the most head bobbing due to the non staggering of the seats. A head moves to the side in the first row and then every one behind has to adjuts. The play was great. Put on 2 bartenders at intermission.
Report This ReviewI live in the suburbs and a trip downtown to the theater is a real treat, although we have some very good shows out here. The problem is, it's impossible to buy tickets at the downtown theaters at face value. LBT forces you to buy via ticket master and they automatically slap on a 20% charge. That makes an already expensive ticket too expensive.
