Om for the Home is a “spa for the spirit.” The holistic center nurtures and maintains a person’s spiritual and physical well-being through customized programs of meditation, yoga and qigong, systematic movements that channel life into the body for detoxifying, energizing and healing. Counselors teach the fundamentals of feng shui, the enhancement of one’s sacred space, the five senses, intuition and mandalas, or symbolic diagrams of a person’s nature. Clients have the option of taking courses through a private session or in a group environment. Named for what is considered the most powerful Sanskrit sacred syllable, the fifth-floor spa has a large, open reception area that overlooks Oak Street. Japanese-style screens lining the far wall slide back and forth to reveal Om’s products -- soap, body wash, lotion, tea, sachet, meditation CDs and books, even chocolate truffles. There are also two meditation rooms and a large area for yoga instruction.
