Two Heathers are at the helm of this Portage Park cafe and clothing boutique. Heather Morse is the java nut behind the creatively flavored lattes -- like raspberry ganache, peanut butter and almond joy -- brewed here, while Heather Barstow showcases her own mod, '60s-inspired clothing line, AlterationEgo, plus as custom threads by other local designers. Though "couture" is in the name, the prices are far from runway, and the money you shell out includes alterations to custom-fit the garment to your body. Though the focus is mostly women's clothing, guys will also find a piece here and there, like edgy screenprinted leather jackets. The cafe counter here crafts all drinks using beans from local roaster Casteel Coffee, and stocks a selection of sweet treats as well as bagels for the morning crowd.
