This cute-as-can-be take on the corner candy store offers plenty of old-fashioned treats. Local sweets lover Terese McDonald ("Candy is my passion," she gushes) has filled the bright white and red space with an impressive 125 bulk units stocking myriad candies sold by weight, from gummy fish to chocolate-covered treats. Some of the more unique offerings include movie-style boxed candies, vegan chocolate truffles, Irish imports and hard-to-find retro treats such as Idaho Spuds and Cup-o-Gold. Clever signs near the front of the store will help you determine your own "candyality" (that is, candy personality), from sour candy risk-takers to loyal licorice lovers. The latter shouldn't miss the licorice bar, stocked with everything from soft Finnish licorice to the double-salt variety.

Candyality is more store than cafe, but there are seats scattered throughout, plus a pillow-strewn bench near the back for snacking on whatever treats you've bought. They also brew coffee from Crop to Cup, a fair-trade, family-farmed coffee company, and stock treats from local favorite Sarah's Pastries & Candies. During the warmer months, their freezer will be stocked with classic treats like Bomb Pops. For a non-edible gift, check out the alcove of T-shirts and pajamas emblazoned with Junior Mint and Dots logos.
