In addition to offering massage therapy, along with wax and nail treatments, A Body Within Pilates also hosts an array of exercise classes, including Gyrotonic, the Teacher-Training Program, and, you guessed it, Pilates. The roster at this Roscoe Village studio also features the more unconventional courses of Movement Therapy for People with Parkinson's and Sheila Kelley's S Factor.
After arduous training with the S Factor's founder, Sheila Kelly, owner Margarette Raymond garnered exclusive rights to teach this innovative exercise. While researching a film role as an exotic dancer, actor Kelley created this feminine movement technique which incorporates striptease and pole dancing. With seven levels, each lasting eight weeks, the two-hour classes are held within a mirror-less, dimly-lit room, enabling clients to relinquish any inhibitions. Raymond asserts that the S-Factor "empowers" the average woman to "tap into her erotic creature." Perhaps the more reserved types may take advantage of this class; the S Factor was featured on Oprah after all.
