Mohaupt caught Metromix’s eye back in 2006 when we featured her funky ladies’ sandals with interchangeable ribbon laces and soles made from recycled rubber tire, handmade in her Logan Square studio. Her newest kicks are wooden wedge-heel platforms (pictured) with a rich cherry or walnut finish, some even crafted from trees removed from local lots or parks otherwise destined for the chipper.
