The Noble Grape
- Neighborhood: West Town
- 802 N. Bishop St.
- Chicago, IL 60622
- 312-846-1204
If Alex Basich, co-owner of this Noble Square storefront, looks familiar to you, it’s not because you’ve had one too many sips of pinot noir. Before working on this shop, he ran Wicker Park’s Vintage Wine Bar with his brother. Affordability is the common thread connecting the wine (80 percent of the stock’s $30 or less) and artwork for sale, the latter changing every six weeks or so to feature different local artists. You’ll also find sakes, craft beer and a selection of spirits that skews more toward North Shore Distillery than Smirnoff. Basich and co-owner Milan Patel also hope to keep the stock dynamic according to the neighborhood's needs and wants, so speak up and you might just play a part in the future stock.
