Out of the West

Urban cowgirls and cowboys get their premium denim at Out of the West, which operated since the early '90s at Armitage and Sheffield (where you'll now find Ralph Lauren's Rugby) and moved a block west in 2006. The decor is kitchy country, with steer horns on the walls, chambray dressing room curtains and plenty of "Cowgirls are forever," signs throughout the narrow space. But the stock for men and women is refreshingly up-to-date, stocking premium denim lines such as AG, Seven, Castle and Page, alongside jersey dresses by Velvet and sequined clutches. Jewelry cases show off turquoise and silver pieces, while Justin cowboy boots are displayed just steps away from Converse sneakers.
