Known for her feminine designs, Ohio native Nanette Lepore returns to her Midwestern roots with her first standalone boutique in Chi-town, which debuted Nov. 1 in the former Jolie Joli address. Adding to the increasingly high-end tendencies of Damen Avenue's boutique scene, this light-as-air space greets shoppers with a cluster of white-washed antique chandeliers a gleamingly white floor. Expect Lepore's gypsy-feminine asthetic to shine brightly here, from party-worthy pieces to flowy, ethereal frocks. Built-in racks line either side of the store, filled with silky blouses, sequin-embellished dresses and tweed jackets. If you don't see more than one of any single garment, it's because only the smallest size is displayed on the salesfloor here; just ask a staffer to retrieve your size when you see something you fancy. At the rear of the narrow space, you'll find the dressing rooms and a small alcove dotted with shoes, from feminine platform heels to cutesy flats from Lepore's collaboration with Keds.
