Navy Pier

I'm a local Chicagoan and will admit I hadn't been to Navy Pier in a few years. My mistake! I recently took my six year old for Patch's Pirate Festival (Patch is the Navy Pier mascot). It was great! We spent hours watching shows - everything from swordfighting, to dancing/comedy, to juggling and singers. There were also games for the kids and a lot of fun photo opportunities. Considering we took the #66 bus to get there, it only cost bus fare and lunch at McDonalds. All the shows and events were free. I was really impressed by all the free entertainment the Pier offers and plan on going back in February or March to check out the free lunchtime concerts on Thursdays.
Report This ReviewCouples love ferris wheels, but it was a shame when my fiance and I hop on the Navy Pier Ferris wheel only to be trapped and bombarded by a loud speaker the whole ride around blaring Las Vegas like-Casino music and advertisements. If you think it's romantic to ride the Navy Pier ferris wheel to violating loud noise, by all means enjoy yourself. I want my money back. People should be told there's a speaker screaming at you the whole ride through and be given the choice.
Report This ReviewOh Navy Pier could be so much better! Admittedly, a hot-spot tourist destination, and a massive billboard/advertisment. Food prices here are staggering ($4.00 for a bottle of Coke), as is the cost of many of the attractions, not to mention parking (take my wallet, please). However, the fireworks are cool, and so is the stained-glass museum. The dinner cruises can be fun too.
