Located in the former North End warehouse district, Joe’s Bar is proud to give back by hosting charitable events for a variety of organizations. Joe’s Bar’s upcoming charitable events include “A Bash for Baldrick’s” on Oct. 4 and Right Angle Foundation on Oct. 13.
STP Sports is presenting “A Bash for Baldrick's” on Oct. 4 from 8 to 11 p.m. During the event, patrons can relive the 1988 Notre Dame National Championship season, and meet and greet with players to raise funds for St. Baldrick's Foundation. FOX Chicago news anchor and St. Baldrick's champion Patrick Elwood is acting as emcee for the program, which includes the replaying of the 1988 Notre Dame/Miami game, as well as a Q-and-A session with key players. This event takes place two days prior to the current Notre Dame football team taking on Miami at Soldier Field.
Other activities include a book signing of the children's book “Dreams of the Echoes Notre Dame Beats Miami,” featuring Theo and Eddie J, and written by Brandon Crouch and Frank Corrigan, two Notre Dame graduates.
On Oct. 13 at 9 p.m., the Freddy Jones Band and Brent Anderson are having a benefit concert at Joe's Bar for Right Angle Foundation, a program of the Noble Network. The Right Angle was founded in 1996 and eventually found its role in the support of Noble Network students who qualified for Summer of a Lifetime (SOL) university enrichment programs. The mission of Right Angle has always been to send these typically low-income, high school students to pre-collegiate programs at prestigious universities across the country.
The Chicago sports bar with a rooftop area most recently hosted “A Special Wish Benefit Concert” on Sept. 20. The concert featured Boom Shakalaka and benefitted the Chicago chapter of A Special Wish Foundation. A Special Wish Chicago helps children with life-threatening disorders receive wonderful chances to go to Disney World, meet a celebrity, go on a shopping spree and more.
