Vincent Van Gogh said, “If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.” That’s the idea at Bottle & Bottega “Art Uncorked,” Chicago’s original BYOB Art Party: It just takes some instruction—and a little wine—to unveil that inner artist.

Bottle & Bottega offers BYOB (bring your own bottle) art classes and parties for birthdays, bridal and baby showers, bachelorette parties, and team-building events in studios and off-site partner locations like restaurants, bars or wine shops, as well as in private homes or corporate venues. Most classes are $40 and include all art supplies. Guests bring their own beverages and enjoy an instructor-led evening of art creation.

Only three years in business, Bottle & Bottega is taking off fast. The original B&B is located in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood and a second company-owned location is set to open in the South Loop on Aug. 1. Bottle & Bottega’s first Illinois franchised location opened in La Grange on June 11 this year by owners Paul and Meg LeFaivre. Chicagoland’s newest location is set to open in Evanston on Aug. 12. Bottle & Bottega also has one franchised location in Denver, Colo. Franchises start out as mobile businesses, then open a studio location within six months of signing the franchise agreement.

“We’re a kind of liaison between local artists and the community,” Stephanie King-Myers, founder and president of Bottle & Bottega, said. “It’s our job to find something our guests connect with—an artistic medium, event or cause—and bring them together for a fresh, unique party where guests have a lasting memory to take away.”

As the only art party concept that focuses on multiple art forms and themed events as part of its regular business offerings, Bottle & Bottega “art parties” may focus on painting a canvas, creating a mosaic, wine glass painting, jewelry making or live models. Each studio has its own special classes, including themes such as “Monday with the Masters,” “Taco (or Tapas) & Art Tuesday,” “Couples and BFF Night” and “Wine Down Wednesday.”
