Kinzie Chophouse in River North is offering a four-course dinner menu (with or without wine tastings) throughout January to benefit a local Chicago charity. The River North steak house is donating 50 percent of the subtotal sales from the special menu to Mercy Home for Boys & Girls.
“We are honored to give back to the community through donating to Mercy Home, which is such a well rounded organization” Susan Frasca, the owner of Kinzie Chophouse, said whom is also highly involved in the organization.
A four-course dinner menu costs $95 (excluding tax and gratuity), and features a beet and goat cheese salad, winter chowder, the choice of one of three entrees, and the choice between two desserts. The entree options include a pork tenderloin scallopini served with an apple risotto and steamed asparagus topped with a gorgonzola cream sauce; a customized 10-ounce New York strip with a choice of crusts or toppings served with a brussel sprout, bacon and red onion hash; and a chicken breast stuffed with prosciutto, spinach and goat cheese, served with rosemary smashed potatoes in a tomato-basil cream sauce. Dessert consists of pistachio semifreddo or chocolate chip cookie pie a la mode.
The four-course dinner menu with wine tastings costs $150 (excluding tax and gratuity). The featured wines are Trefethen Riesling with the salad; Benziger Chardonnay with the soup; Andeluna Malbec, Hahn Estates "Meritage" or a Belle Glos Meiomi Pinot Noir with the entree; and Chateau Bel Air with dessert.
“Mercy Home for Boys & Girls is truly an amazing charity that gives back in a way that children need most. This is a great program that I proudly support,” Frasca said.
Founded in 1887, Mercy Home for Boys & Girls is a not-for-profit children's charity dedicated to being a solution for at-risk children and teens in Chicago, Illinois. It offers critical, life-saving services to more than 600 hurting and troubled young women and men every year.
