Providing the best pizza, pasta and more, Trattoria D.O.C. is thrilled to announce its holiday menu for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

“We will be open Christmas Eve on Dec. 24 for our normal hours. Come in and enjoy our traditional Italian Vigilia di Natale Cenone. In addition to our regular menu items, we will also prepare a seven-course seafood dinner,” Giulianna Mazzocchetti, chef and owner of Trattoria D.O.C., said.

Tagged as the “Feast of Seven Fishes” (also known as the seven fishes, seven virtues, cenone di Vigila), this dinner comes down to one thing: enjoying course after course of seafood. The most traditional item on the menu is the fried fish with fried vegetables. Other options include Risotto alla Crema di Aragosta, which is organic Carnaroli rice sautéed with slipper lobster meat, shallots, garlic, white wine, parsley, a touch of tomato sauce and brandy cream sauce, topped by a 4-ounce, cold-water lobster tail; and Spiedini di Tonno, Capesante e Gamberoni, which is marinated and lightly grilled skewers of tuna, prawns, scallops and octopus.

On Christmas Eve, customers may order off the regular menu, the special menu or try the seven-course dinner for $45 per person.  Trattoria D.O.C. is open from noon until 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Keep in mind that the Italian restaurant fills up quickly with large parties of families eating before or after church.

New Year's Eve is generally more quiet at the Italian restaurant than on Christmas Eve, with families and friends coming in for dinner before heading to parties. From noon until 10 p.m., customers can enjoy Cotechino con Lenticchie, a lentil soup made with carrots, leeks, onions, celery and mixed herbs, and served with braised, imported pork sausage; Quaglie al Brandy, whole boneless quail filled with a mushroom and roasted chestnut stuffing, wrapped with pancetta, baked and served with a brandy sauce; and Mela in Crosta, golden delicious apples soaked in Calvados, rolled in vanilla sugar, drizzled with sweet cream, wrapped in puff pastry, baked and served with a scoop of Grand Marnier gelato.
