Providing the best pizza, pasta and Italian cuisine in Evanston, Trattoria D.O.C. is offering new menu items for the winter season, beginning this November. Winter items added to menu include scamorza alla griglia, grilled smoked mozzarella with grilled endive and radicchio; pappardelle al ragu d'anatra, wide, ribbon-shaped pasta sauteed with a duck ragu; risotto con salsiccia di agnello, organic carnaroli rice sauteed with peppers, lamb and beef sausage; and pizza alla diavola, tomato sauce, mozzarella, peppers and spicy salami (sopressata).
“We will also be serving specials featuring squash, pumpkin and tuscan kale,” Giulianna Mazzocchetti, chef and owner of Trattoria D.O.C., said.
Trattoria D.O.C. stands for more than food. Sisters Lucia Mazzocchetti and Giulianna Mazzocchetti kept the same recipes they started out with, the same staff, and have developed a strong bond with their customers and the community that they serve.
“We have created a family. What we have learned during our journey is that our success is dependent on our staff, our customers and the community we serve,” Giulianna said.
Trattoria D.O.C. offers a Five Stars Loyalty Program. When customers join, they can earn points for free desserts, appetizers, percentages off their bills, or a donation to a specific charity on the customer's behalf. Throughout November and December, the designated charity is the Red Cross to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
The Evanston restaurant and wine bar is currently accepting bookings for the holiday party season. It has a semi-private dining room available for parties seating up to 40 people. Call Giulianna to start making plans for events.
Trattoria D.O.C. will be closed on Nov. 22 for Thanksgiving.
