Chicago City Limits in Schaumburg is thrilled to announce that it is hosting the pre-show party for The Days of the Dead Convention on Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. The Days of the Dead is the premier horror convention that has been to Indianapolis and Atlanta, and is now at the Chicago-Schaumburg Marriott for a three-day event.

“With the Days of the Dead convention in Schaumburg, we looked around for an appropriate venue and found Chicago City Limits. It has a great stage and sound and plenty of space. The owner, Arnie, welcomed the idea. We are psyched to work with him and those at Chicago City Limits,” said Ari Lehman, keytarist of First Jason and an event organizer with The Days of the Dead Convention.

The pre-show party features several live bands, including Ugly, Grover Robber and First Jason, as well as DJs Risky & Munchies spinning.

One of the premier acts for the pre-show party, First Jason, fronted by Ari Lehman, is not new to horror conventions. Lehman had the unique honor of playing the role of the first Jason Voorhees in the classic horror film, "Friday the 13th," in 1980. Playing the original "Boy In The Lake" himself, Lehman played a crucial role in the film's famous final scene, in which he suddenly emerges from the icy waters of Crystal Lake.

First Jason was formed specifically for horror fans, especially the fans of “Friday the 13th” and punk/metal music. The band is a duo composed of Lehman, who plays the world's only heavy-metal keytar on a giant machete, and his metal drummer.
