The folks behind Mt. Greenwood's Veggie Bite opened a Wicker Park outpost April 2.

The core of the menu, which mirrors the Mt. Greenwood location, features tasty quick-serve spins on typical fast-food faves such as meatball sandwiches, gyros, burgers, chicken nuggets and nachos, plus a few salads. Best-sellers making the lineup here include the fajita wrap, an organic tomato wrap stuffed with grilled seitan, peppers, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, Buffalo sauce and Golden sauce (their spin on vegan cheese). Look for a few new Mediterranean dishes at this location, including falafel, hummus and spinach pie.

The casual corner storefront is fitted with perky colors and plenty of natural light from windows on two sides, great for watching the stream of passerby on busy Milwaukee Avenue. Look for additional perks like wi-fi and a sidewalk café soon.
