The opulent lobby restaurant of the Peninsula Hotel Chicago occupies the fifth floor of the hotel. The menu shows a strong Asian influence. Start with a sushi and sashimi appetizer, move on to the spicy Thai curry red barbecue duck, and finish with a creme brulee flavored with lemon grass. There's plenty of eye-candy here, from the green and gold hand-tufted carpet to the gold leaf-covered double-dome ceiling. Twenty-foot-high floor-to-ceiling windows overlook Michigan Avenue.
