Luscious Lockwood

To address a recent diner, if you want ranch dressing, you don't go to a gourmet restaurant. I had lunch there, the food was delicious, beautifully prepared, beautifully presented. I would definitely go back. It's pricey, but aren't all good restaurants?

Big Disappointment

A big disappointment. The restaurant and bar is beautiful. The service was good. The food leaves a lot to be desired. Chef Foss is so busy de-constructing food that he forgets that he has customers to take care of. He has the staff well trained in offering alternatives but not getting what the guest wants. A polite way of saying no, but it is a no nonetheless. I like ranch dressing. I was told that I could not have ranch dressing. I know the staff is doing what they are told, but you cannot tell me that a hotel as large as the Palmer House does not have ranch dressing. Chef Foss needs to put his ego to the side and concentrate on taking care of the customer. I will never be back to dine there. The wine list is also over priced and has no appearent direction or theme. There are better alternatives for the price. Whomever is managing or responsible for making decisions has no clue as to what they are doing.

Lockwood Restaraunt

I ordered the surf, turf and turf for $52 expecting that at a minimum I'd end up with an entree that covered the plate. What I got was a 6 oz. filet (kind of expected) upon which was stacked a sliver of beef short ribs, that did not extend over the edge of the filet and a mutant lobster tail that didn't extend over the edge of either of the turfs. Surrounding this delite was a circle of the most watery mash potatoes that I may have ever had, whose only purpose seemed to be to provide a barrier to the gravey or au jus that was also on the plat apparently trying to invade the stack of surf turf and turf that I paid 52 bucks for.

We ate at Lockwood Restaurant last Saturday, and we had a wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delectable. We enjoyed every morsel. Service was very good in a very soothing and quiet environment.

Great Overall experience

We were more than pleasantly surprised to find this great dinner spot before going to the LaSalle theater. From the hostess who greeted us to the waiter and manager, everyone
was truly wonderful. The food was outstanding in every way. Another couple who dine out frequently were next to us, and were equally enthusiastic.
Highly recommended!
