Hoanh Long

This North Park spot offers dishes from multiple regions of Vietnam including soups, noodle and rice dishes, entrées, hot pots and a lineup of vegetarian offerings. The top toque is Hieu Tran, who clocked kitchen time at the now-shuttered French-inflected Pasteur. Tran’s menu lists choices like banh tom, a shrimp cake with sweet potato salad; pho, an aromatic beef noodle soup with add-ins like rare beef and meatballs; thit nuong rau song, marinated beef with veggies; and banh xeo, a Vietnamese-style crepe with shrimp and pork. The sunny storefront features both booth and table seating, with teal and soft green walls decked with smatterings of Asian artwork.
