Tres bienshamoo!
Get the baby spinach with poached egg, mussels in broth with sausage, fois gras is good-not spectacular (but it's hard to find now) and for desert that ooey gooey homemade marshmallow ganache aptly named the Bently of smores. The service is great. 6 different people graced our table in addition to the waiter. Bueno. Tres.

Just short of great--will try again.

Eve's a beautiful, if not somewhat trendy room. Unfortunately, everything was just short of great. The baby spinach salad was especially bland/tasteless and the white asparagus shreds were grass-like. The spinach/mushroom pierogi was saved only by the flavor of the gorgonzola smear on the plate. The foie gras was great but the portion was quite small. The lobster sausage was flavorful and colorful but the casing was difficult to chew/cut through which was distracting. The prawns were giant and beautifully presented but tough and dry. The panna cotta below them was unbelievable. Would love to eat lots of that! The cocktail list is inventive and the wine list, while small has enough variety to keep you covered. Staff is knowledgeable about food and drinks and extremely accommodating (provided us with half pours throughout our meal). I will try Eve again as I love Talleulah and will sample some entrees next time. I really hope we'll be blown away.

Outstanding

This is a beautiful place, the service was very attentive and the food outstanding. Lobster sausage, prawns with panna cotta, soft shell crabs, celeraic ravioli - inventive, delicious food. One of the best new restaurants we've been to since Perenial opened a year ago. Go here!

Never sat down

Stopped in for a look and maybe to eat at the bar. Entire place had strange smell something akin to mildew. Maybe I'll wait a few weeks and try again.

Now one of my faves

I went there when it first opened and last Sat, both times with a group of about 6. We were not rushed at all and dined for about 3 hours without a blink from the staff, which was tremendously friendly. The wine by the glass was excellent, which is usually not the case in most places. The food is unique but not beyond my comprehension and we all absolutely loved our meal selections. And the decor is gorgeous, by the way. I saw it featured in Elle Magazine, deservedly so.

Indifferent service

Despite unfriendly and indifferent service, we were automatically charged 20 percent gratuity for our table of six. The food is good, but certainly no better than you can get at many other places in the same area.

Good Food/Bad Service
By Alteraego from Streeterville, January 22, 2009

What a disappointing way to celebrate friends’ birthdays. Although the food was good, service lacked any enthusiasm and could be termed disinterested. We were served in ‘shifts’ even though tables of guests around us who sat down after us were served before us. My advice to potential guests – look someplace else. My advice to the owners - keep the chef, start over with staffing.

WOW!

I took clients to a holiday luncheon and we had a spectacular time. The wait staff was amazing. The food was incredible. Because we had a large group we had a little of everything from the duck sausage, oysters on the half shell, prawns, foi gras burger, shrimp and calamari salad to one of every dessert. Everything was incredible! I would go back there in a heart beat and have already recommended it to everyone!

make reservations for different time slots to make sure you get a table on time

this was my first time at Eve, and their first friday. i had made a reservation for 8:30 pm and had requested a quiter table as me and my husband were celebrating a special ocassion.
we had to WAIT FOR AN HOUR to be seated!! upon arrival the waitress told us that they are running "A LITTLE BEHIND" and that we can have a seat at the bar till then (there was only standing space available at the bar). we were not told that our wait time will be 1 hour. infact we were not given any indication of wait time.
we were offered complimentary drink after endlessly waiting for 45 minutes (still no table in view).
by the time we got to order our food, they had ran out of most of the disshes we wanted to order. so we had to settle for our second and third best choices.
all in all, i was very disappointed at many levels:
1. no transparency in wait times
2. poor customer service
3. alright food
i understand that the restaurant is new and might be having teething problems...but i shouldn't have to pay for their problems. an hour of wait after reservation is UNACCEPTABLE, and as i understand, the owner is not new to the restaurant business.
i think the mantra here is SQUEEZE THE MOST FROM EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS!
