My wife and I have been here twice, and the food is EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT!...both times! I'll give you a run-down of our experiences during both visits as they are quite different.
Visit 1- Hostess was a bit rude. Waiter was nice, but too busy to be attentive to our needs. The food came out fast, which was a relief after the 15 minute wait. And boy was it delicious!!!
Visit 2- An issue with the sewer line into the building turned the place into take-out orders only (temporarily) as there was no working restroom. The hostess handled the situation beautifully. She advised us as we entered of the problem, offered us a menu, asked us to order at the take-out line, and said that we could have a seat to eat our meal. But w/out a working restaurant, they weren't able to offer full table service. We were fine with that, ordered our food, and sat down to eat. The owner came to our table and was very apologetic about the situation. He explained that he was called back from his vacation in L.A. to deal with the emergency. We told him that we've dined there beofre and certainly understood. He said, "Good. Then you know that we normally do better than this". My wife and I were impressed that the owner walked the floor and apologized to each customer personally. Even out of to-go containers, the food came out fast and was DELICIOUS again!
Despite the issues, I felt that the service was better during the 2nd visit. Once the plumbing issue is resolved and they get back to being a full service restaurant, I hope the service doesn't revert to what we experienced during the first vist. But I'm sure it will.

I have been to the Chicken and Waffle place 4 times now. I have only had to wait once and that was not for very long. I really enjoy the chicken the seasoning reminds me of my Grandmother's chicken and the red beans are soooo delicious

Visited the restaurant on two occasions and both times the service was less than acceptable. Servers and host appeared to be inexperienced with handling customers with minimal demands however; the chicken was extremely good!

After calling and asking them did they have take out and they replied yes. After going there I waited in line. Just for the waitress to tell me they were so behind in the kitchen that they were taking no carry out orders as instructed by the kitchen. This also applied if you were calling in to pick up orders. And then it was a 40 minute wait to dine in.

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant on May 9th, but it was too crowded, so we came back on the 20th (this past Tuesday) and we were able to get a table. The line wasn't long so we decided to wait for a booth. I ordered 2 waffles with 1/4 of a chicken, with a beverage called "Tonya Joi" (a mixture of fruit punch and lemonade--loved it!); my BF ordered 1 waffle with an omelet with chunks of chicken in it. The food was delicious and I can see why this place is constantly crowded, LOL! I tasted a little bit of my BF's omelet and will definitely get that when we return. The syrup that came with the waffles tasted sweet, like cake, and the chicken was seasoned just right. The waiters/staff were friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our food. The atmosphere is nice...there are art works displayed on the walls, music (I think it was jazz?) played overhead...there's a "busyness" about the place (waiters/staff constantly moved about). My BF and I both agreed that the place should be expanded since there's extra storefront space next door and on the side; perhaps that would eliminate the long wait times. They should also have a separate entrance for customers who order carry out. I'm anxious to see how this restaurant will progress over the next year or so.

The wait is INSANE, so please make sure you wear comfortable shoes, as there are NO seats in the makeshift waiting area. I think there might be two chairs to be fair. The dining area is small, the ventilation was questionable while I was there (a problem that might have been solved since then). The chicken was GREAT, perfectly seasoned, served crispy and hot. The waffles were ok, a little too soggy for my taste. I will probably go back, but I'm not in a hurry to do so.

First off, all the haters that say this place is bad are just grumpy, ignorant people. The food here is GREAT!!! Yes, the wait is bad, but that's because of the layout of the joint. The square footage is not the most ample which of course leads to long wait times. Once they get settled, a smart thing to do would be to place benches or tables out on the sidewalk so folks dont have to stand up for 45+ minutes. Once seated however, the atmosphere is great, nice smooth jazz playing overhead and polite waiting staff. We got our food within 10-15 minutes of ordering it. The chicken omelette was DELICIOUS and the waffle was still warm enough to melt butter on (most waffles are barely warm or cold by the time it's brought out to the table). The fried chicken was seasoned like nothing I'd ever had before and was juicy and flavorful. I can't wait to go back to this place. Hopefully they can expand the floorplan to maybe an upstairs section to prevent the long wait times. Other than that, this is my new favorite place to eat!!

....Very good! I recently dined at new established to check out the buzz on the new eatery. I was very impressed with the cozy look and feel of the restaurant. There was ample street parking which was great.
My dining experience was also a pleasant one. I had the fried chicken and sampled the catfish fillet, with a side of yams and greens…yummy! The prices are decent, the food was very good, the service was great and the portions were plentiful. Stop by and check ‘em out!

I tried this joint this afternoon and I have to say....this is as good as it gets without having to go to eat at Grandma's house in the south!
The waffles were the most delicious treat I have put in my mouth in a LONG time. The chicken was heavenly. Plus...the sides....well.... I cannot say enough about the mac and cheese and red beans and rice. The only downside is that this restaurant needs to be twice as big!
