After briefly being known as Chicago's Rosscoe's, on April 9, 2008, owners of the restaurant changed its name to Chicago's Home of Chicken and Waffles.
The menu offers multiple spins on the waffle-poultry combo; look for livers, giblets and wings in addition to the half-fried chicken, quarter-chicken smothered with gravy and the fried chicken and cheese omelet. Non-waffle options include whole wheat-whole grain flapjacks with turkey sausage and eggs; and Southern-fried catfish with eggs, grits and a biscuit. The full-serve dining room features both booth and table seating; expect smooth jazz from the sound system, a more causal vibe during the day and candles on the dark wood tables at night.
