Berry Chill, Chicago’s answer to L.A. and New York sensation Pinkberry, offers 100-percent fat-free frozen yogurt made with lactose-free milk. We’re told there are less than 20 calories per ounce—and the stuff gets the seal of approval from the National Yogurt Association. The original "freezy tart" flavor is Berry Chill’s spin on plain soft-serve. There also are rotating selections such as chilled latte, chilled hot chocolate and strawberry-banana. Yogurt concoctions include BC Blenders (smoothies) and BC Blasts (yogurt with toppings mixed in) with add-ins such as mini-Oreo cookies, blackberries and Brazilian papaya. Bonus: Berry Chill is open until 4 a.m. weekends, offering a healthful alternative to the late-night taco run. This River North location is the original; Berry Chill has other locations throughout the city.
