"Poppin'Fresh"-Style Bisuits!!
By FoodCritical from West Ridge, June 29, 2009

Oh, so sad. How can Pauline call her biscuits "fluffy" and "country" when they come out of a can in the fridge?

And the blueberry pancakes were burned!

Asked to leave because they were busy
By BDL270 from Edgewater, January 26, 2009

There were four adults and one child on a late Sunday morning. Service was mediocre at best. The food is fair. The service not that good. We had just paid our bill and not even five minutes later we were asked to leave because the restaurant was busy and people needed our table. I have never been asked to leave a restaurant because other people were waiting for a table. Needless to say, we are done with Pauline's. I wouldn't have gone there to begin with but the people we were with chose the restaurant.

We love this place
By paulobis from Budlong Woods, August 28, 2008

My wife and I enjoy going here on weekdays (Weekends are usually too busy). The food is pricey, but we usually share because the portions are very generous. There are 2 indoor dining rooms -- one is quiet, the other is noisy. In good weather, you can dine outside and bring your dog. Pauline's is open 365 days a year, including Christmas and New Year's. These folks are really dedicated to breakfast.

We went here after softball on Sunday. Perfect breakfast menu. No frills, but friendly, warm and attentive service. If you have to wait a couple of minutes..... get over it! Mary was our server ... she's the BEST! Food was regular breakfast fare - done well and fast. Highly rec'd.

Never again
By NNN from Andersonville, May 19, 2008

My husband & I ate here on a not-very-busy Saturday morning (half-full restaurant at best). The food is really a bit too overpriced for what it is but their biggest sin is atrocious service (coupled with a general lack of social graces). Our order came out in pieces. Once we got it, our server never once came back to check on us or refill drinks. I'd mention her by name but she never gave that to us either. At the end of our meal, we sat in shocked fascination desperately trying to make eye contact with her as she passed us (and our stacked empty plates) too many times to count. Never again!

Wish I Had Checked Here First
By Ms. Restaurant from Lincoln Square, March 27, 2008

Why bother eating out if the service is rude and incompetent? I wish I had known what I was in for before I went to Pauline's. I would have stayed home. Who knows if the food was any good? It was cold by the time it arrived. The order was wrong, but we decided to eat what we were given rather than wait any longer. How can this place stay in business? The waitstaff is obviously not trained in the basics of restaurant service, and not bright enough to have learned through observation at good restaurants.. Just hand 'em an order pad and send 'em out there!

The french toast I had was delicious. The waitress was very nice and chatty. The service was quick. I had to be at work that morning and was in and out pretty fast. I look forward to my next visit and trying the omelets

Service is bad and slow....
By SusieQ from Chicago, IL, June 8, 2007

Service is bad and slow. My toast was not delivered with my eggs, and I had to ask three times before it arrived. My husband's omelet did not come until LONG after everyone else had finished eating, and it was cold! Our waitress was clueless -- truly didn't seem to understand why we had a problem with the order of delivery or the temperature of the food.
