Mill Race Inn - Geneva, IL 60134 | Metromix Chicago

Mill Race Inn

The Mill Race Inn, once a summer-only tearoom in a former blacksmith shop, has expanded over its 60 years of operation to offer a variety of dining and entertainment options. Set on the banks of the Fox River and bordering a city park, the sprawling restaurant encircles the original smithy with rooms for both casual and elegant dining and gazebo that serves up picnic-style meals and music from April through October.

Known for its traditional American menu, the main dining room features favorites including chicken shortcake and Canadian crab cakes at lunch and prime rib of beef, walleyed pike and grilled fillet of salmon at dinner, with 30 wines by the glass. On Sundays, chefs prepare hearty old-fashioned breakfast platters. The casual Mill Grill serves steaks, salads, ribs, carvery sandwiches and a Friday fish fry.
