One of six Hackney's in the area, patrons have been swearing by the famous Hackney burger for six decades. One-half pound of beef, in an oval shape with a crusty exterior, sits on dark rye bread and is served with fries, slaw and raw or grilled onions. Have a go at the signature french-fried onion rings served in a hot, crispy loaf. Non-burger eaters can choose from daily specials like hot turkey with mashed potatoes, ribs, meatloaf, potpie and fried walleye and lake perch. Hackney's goes through five tons of beef per week and was selected among "The Best Burgers in America" by the Food Network.
