this spot has amazing food, cheap. the ambience is not all that great, but really clean nonetheless. very student oriented, sometimes can feel bit tight in there. but the really good food outweighs everything else. i've always found parking on the street meters. seriously any thai food lover needs to try this place.

This is one of the best and most authentic Thai restuarants in the city. The Basil Chicken, combined with their hot sauce on the table, is perfection. Also the chicken egg roll is great. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is tasteful and ecelectic. I love this place.
(They are closed on Mondays, and during UofC holidays).

Snail is the best Tai food in Hyde Park, but it's hardly worth a trip down there unless you are going to the Museum of Science and Industry two blocks away.

Almost everything is good at Snail, though the beef used in many dishes is overcooked and leathery.

The middle aged woman who runs Snail is really a kind soul, and her daughter makes up for shyness with great looks!

Snail is by far the best Thai in Chicago. Combine Marisa and Chom's friendliness with the rest of their staff's attentiveness and the superior taste of their food, and you've got a real winner! How the other 3 Thai restaurants in the 3 block radius stay in business must be because the Snail can only accomodate SO MANY customers at once.
