Thai Pavilion II Restaurant

This place is simply INCREDIBLE!! I went here on Thursday night w/ some of my co-workers and had huge expectations considering two of them are thai and were raving about the food all day long :)
From the outside, Thai Pavilion is rather non-descript and looks like a typical storefront restaurant, but step inside and the interior is quite warm, comfortable, and even romantic. I loved the fact that it was family owned and byob, so don't forget to stop at the local market and pick up some thai beer.
For appetizers we had the fried dried beef w/ sticky rice, papaya salad, spring rolls, and satay chicken. All of them were great, especially the fried dried beef which was ridiculously good. For entrees we ordered tofu pad thai, shrimp pad see ew, basil duck, yen ta fo (wide rice noodle soup w/ shrimp, squid, fish ball, tofu, and fish cakes), and kao mun gai (sliced steamed chicken breast over special rice w/ spicy ginger sauce).
All were pretty incredible, w/ the pad thai, basil duck, and kao mun kai being huge standouts. The pad thai was probably the best i've ever had, the noodles were sooo delicious. The duck was out of this world, and the kao mun kai was a wonderful surprise considering i've never seen it on a thai menu before. It was super cool to see so many authentic items on the menu that you would never find at a typical thai restaurant. Most of us had iced coffes/tea to mellow down some of the spiciness, and they were yummy as well.
Report This ReviewThai Pavilion is a very nice newer Thai restaurant near Church Street & Skokie Blvd that delivers to Skokie and most parts of Evanston, Lincolnwood, Morton Grove and Wilmette. They may deliver further for large orders. I recently ordered chicken satay appetizer, tom kha soup with tofu, pad kee mow with beef & panang salmon, all of which were excellent. I live on the north end of Lincolnwood and my food arrived about 40 minutes after placing the order. Not bad for just a $2.00 delivery charge. And--- everything was hot, fresh, and well sealed to avoid spills on the trip. The dinner offerings are quite wide-ranging, plus they offer authentic Thai specialties that are not on the regular menu. The special menu is written in Thai, but the server will be happy to translate it for you or make suggestions that might be to your taste. Thai Pavilion is a welcome change from the food of Kaibigan, the former restaurant that occupied the same location one year ago.
Report This ReviewThai Pavilion in Skokie is a very unusual restaurant. Most customers come first for the novelty of a Thai dining experience; but, they return for the excellent cuisine, finally finding themselves part of a warm, friendly, extended family. Rin, the hostess knows good food & loves to feed people. She is the force pulling it all together. Food, service, decor & loving atmosphere. Ron
Report This ReviewThis nine month old Thai restaurant I recently visited, tucked away in a quiet strip mall, is a real sleeper that awakened my senses with the fragrant herbs and sweet spices of Thailand.
I was blown away by the freshness, quality and reasonable prices, not to mention the highly motivated and attentive owner and staff.
Thai Pavilion offers some of the freshest, most original and creativeThai dishes in Chicagoland. There is both a wonderful American style menu with all the classic favorites such as Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Tom Yum, Tom Kha and a plethora of curry dishes and seafood. But, Thai Pavilion’s superlative and authentic Thai menu really shines offering such delicacies as Tilapia with stir fried vegetables in ginger sauce, Thai Sukiyaki, two kinds of savory Thai sausage, tempura squid, Cold Eye Four soup(this is amazing!), and many more. Be sure to ask to see the Thai menu. It’s written in Thai, but your server will be happy to translate and recommend the freshest entrée of the day.
I can’t wait until my next visit!
Loved every minute I was in this restaurant. I've dined at many Thai places in and around the Chicago area, but I have to say that Thai Pavilion in Skokie reigned supreme.
From the moment I walked in the staff extended a very warm welcome and immediately made me feel right at home in the already quiet cozy atmosphere the restaurant offered. The food did not disappoint either. Very creative dishes and with amazing flavors that will give your each of your taste buds a run for their money.
Overall, I'd say this place is perfect. If you are looking for a quiet evening with your significant other, complimented by amazing and reasonably priced Thai cuisine, then Thai Pavilion is the place for you.

Report This ReviewMy wife and I tried out The Thai Pavilion the other day as a recommendation from a friend of ours and it was fantastic! It was located just down the street from the Double Tree Hotel we were staying at and the food and atmosphere just couldn't have been more pleasant. The prices are more than reasonable considering the quality of food you get and the service is simply superb. We both can't wait to go back for lunch and try out their full buffet for 6.95! Overall verdict: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to anyone looking for first-rate Thai cuisine in the Chicago area.
Report This ReviewThai Pavilion knows how to serve up a mean plate of noodles. The Pad Thai there is the best I've ever eaten. Their prices are very reasonable and the quality of the food is outstanding. It is quickly becoming my favorite restaurant to bring friends and family to.
Report This ReviewThis Thai buffet restaurant is one of the best Thai restaurants I have ever eaten at. I am of the Thai heritage and grew up with the same kinds of foods that are served here. The restaurant is always busy but never too busy to provide good service. I frequent this restaurant because the food is authentic and delicious. The variety on the buffet changes slightly day to day. They offer a child friendly food buffet, salad bar, hot soups, vegetarian dishes, fried eggrolls and fresh eggrolls, two bars for Thai entrees as well as dessert, fresh fruits, sticky rice and cookies and cake. I have recommended this restaurant to my Thai friends. I have received great feedback from my friends. Go, enjoy.
