Evanston has attracted a surprising number of Thai spots, but Sabai has already managed to distinguish itself. The brightly painted interior is covered with vibrant art, and even the plates and glassware sport a modern style. But just because there's no bamboo or Buddhas doesn't mean the food isn't authentic Thai; the cashew chicken is one of the best in town and the golden curry noodles are spicy enough that you'll want a Thai iced tea to cool down with.
