No surprise that this tiny-but-hip BYOB sushi stop shares the same owner as no-longer-tiny-but-still-hip Pingpong across the street. The name means "youth" in Japanese and the emphasis here is on no-frills rolls and fresh fish. "No gimmicks," says owner Henry Chang. He says the spot uses no frozen fish, getting deliveries daily. The menu includes red snapper sashimi with truffle oil and salads. The atmosphere sometimes gets enhanced on weekends by a DJ spinning lounge beats. But like its sister-spot, Wakamono doesn't accept reservations, so be prepared for a wait.
