We really enjoy the sushi, the service and price. Since it is BYOB the bill is always very low and sitting outside is great for people watching :)

YUM-- seriously tasty; a great spot

I went to Cafe Sushi with a group of friends on Friday night, and we had an awesome sushi-palooza. The fish here is really fantastic, and the preparations are fun and unusual. Our group does sushi a lot, especially BYO places, but this one is climbing the ranks as a favorite for sure. Should you find yourself at Cafe Sushi, you really shouldn't leave without trying the Snow White, the Sapporo or the Honey Bee rolls. We were such fans of the Honey Bee that we ordered one last roll for the table as dessert. The only ding I can give the place is on service. They are slowww. Granted, we were a group of 6, and it was a weekend nght, but seriously, don't go there super hungry, or you'll be in trouble (BYO+ slow food service...I don't even need to finish that equation.) Pros far outweigh that con, just let it be a word to the wise.

I brought my friend to...

I brought my friend to this restaurant so that we could order take-out. She wanted sushi, so I convinced her to go to the place in my neighborhood that I kept talking about. This place is not overpriced, and usually serves up good sushi. However, after ordering two rolls, my friend and I sat and waited for 45 minutes. The place had a crowded patio, but three tables occupied inside. Work it out Cafe Sushi...customer service can fix a lot. She asked the cashier about her food a few times when we saw people who ordered after us, served before us. The cashier kept saying "they are working on it right now." Well, after 45 minutes, we cancelled the order and the cashier was unapologetic at the extreme time it took to make two simple sushi rolls. He said "I can't do anything about it." I can't do anything about their service either, but I won't be returning.

Great atmosphere and tasty sushi at reasonable prices. You can always get a seat right away, service is decent and the windows surrounding the restaurant make for a great view of Old Town and beyond. I'd highly recommend this place to everyone who wants good sushi, good atmosphere and BYOB!

Food was all-right. Not...

Food was all-right. Not great-not bad. Waited 20 mins for edamame and 65 minutes for sushi on a Wednedsay night with place at 50% capacity.

Waitress stated only 1 chef but there were 2. After eating out sushi, we wanted another roll and she said it'll take another 20-30 mins. So we decided to go to Kamahechi (spelling??) up the street. Tasted better, same price and in and out in 15 minutes.

Don't waste your money or time at this place.

Overall, a good restaurant for...

Overall, a good restaurant for a date. However, the service was awful. Since it's BYOB, I brought in a bottle of wine for my date. Apparently, this place only had one bottle opener that took 15 minutes to locate. In addition, they failed to keep the wine bottle on ice! The waiter did not seem to know the definition of service.

the sushi is incredibly fresh and delicious, which is suprising given the reasonable prices. . . the fact that it is BYOB is another plus!

When we first arrived I expected terrible service considering how crowded the place was (Fri. night) and the lack of waitstaff, but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was nothing short of phenomenal and was an excellent value. There isn't even a corkage fee. I have eaten at quite a few high-end sushi places and this place was easily the freshest and just damn good. Great sake bomb atmosphere too... aiiight!
