When Alan Julamoke, the former executive chef at Tsunami, got tired of working for someone else, he branched out on his own with this West Lakeview sushi and Thai BYOB. Julamoke, who's also logged time at Sushi Wabi, handles the sushi, which includes plenty of over-the-top original creations such as the Magic Dragon roll (shrimp tempura, avocado, spicy mayo and masago topped with crab meat, shrimp and sweet and spicy mayos, then baked). His mom, who hails from southern Thailand, takes care of the Thai dishes. Julamoke is also behind Late Night Thai a few doors away; this is the more sit-down focused of the two spots, with white tablecloths and table service versus paper napkins and counter-service.
