Bacik's large front windows give the feeling of being in Chicago, until you see and hear what's around you. As you open the door to Bacik's you are greeted by the wonderful smells of a true European deli. The sausages at Bacik's are tasty as the smell is fragrant. The long, storefront deli not only has Polish meat and sausage available, but also carries prepared Polish foods, like 'bigos' (hunter's stew), a soup delicacy called 'flaczki,' pierogi and 'czerwony barszcz' (beet soup) in freezer cases. Packaged goods from Poland can also be found on the well-stocked shelves. On the other side of the store there are mostly liqueurs, beer and various alcoholic selections from Poland, as well as others from the U.S. and Europe. Most people on the staff at Bacik's do not speak English very well, so be prepared.
