George Djurovic, a trained chef who's worked in such kitchens as Tru, is now in the business of pleasing people who like to cook for themselves. His gourmet grocery offers a rotating lineup of meats, fish, veggies and groceries, depending on what's in season and what inspires Djurovic (for example, there'll always be pork in the meat fridge but the cuts will change). What sets August apart from the other guys is the neighborly service; Djurovic dispenses prep tips and will even give you some recipes. The open layout lets you chat him up while he whips up the daily grab-and-go offerings, filets your fish or wraps up your meat, just like shoppers used to pre-mega grocery stores. There's also a coffee station for morning commuters heading to the nearby Blue Line stop.
