ate there last night,
as many others have commented, high prices, food was huge portions, nothing special.
price not justified by anything special. service was excellent, salad and potato are included which helps the high cost of the entree. free valet-nice touch, attentive and fast parker. hard to find something under $24, even the pasta.
rather eat at Myron & Phils or LWoods even their prices are not this high and they have great food, every meal.

The Steaks and Chops are large, cave man size. They don't dissapoint. The service is lacking for a resturant that boasts a $40.00 veal chop. Even with reservations, don't expect to be seated on time. The wait staff seemed overwhelmed and forgetfull. With reservations, plan on spending 3 to 4 hours at the resturant. The stress of playing the waiting game ruined this experice which otherwise would have been good.

But the food is just average and the prices are sky high. We had generous portions of the Spaghetti Carbonara, and the grilled Salmon. Both were suprisingly bland. Great service and great ambiance, but not worth the price.

Three months ago I posted a tough review and EJ's listened--and responded! The same party of three that was so disappointed in December went to EJ's last night and had a delicious meal served to us by a bustling, attentive and charming wait staff.
We ordered and shared a perfectly cooked petit filet, the chicken oreganato and done-to-a-T whitefish. We shared a bottle of nicely-priced Stephen Vincent pinot noir.
Chairs were pulled out for the ladies, water glasses were never empty, dishes were cleared promptly--I really can't get over the transformation. An added plus: a celebrity sighting. Floyd Landis, last year's Tour de France "winner" was in the adjoining private dining space being entertained by local cyclists.
What we experienced last night is why EJ's continues to be one of our favorite local restaurants. Great come back! Mojoman
Report This ReviewWill the real EJ come back? My family and I have been eating here for years; the food and service never disappointed. The four of us went to EJs this evening to celebrate a birthday and thought we'd journeyed to the twilight zone. Tucked into an out-of-the-way booth, forgotten by our waiter and ultimately served food--steaks and whitefish--that wasn't up to par. One bad experience among many doesn't take EJ off my list, but I will think twice before going back. What do I recommend? Proprietor EJ needs to tend to business! Mojoman
Report This ReviewOur friends invited us to E.J.'s which they they think is great... I went to MetroMix for reviews which were pretty consistant with our experience.
We decided beforehand not to have steak and selected the Carbonara instead which we split and enjoyed along with a good salad, crabcakes, and crispy cottage fries. The waitor was terrible... brusque and harried. I also liked the large booth by the fireplace. The location is easy to get to from the Edens and they offered complimentary valet. I would suggest splitting the entrees other wise too expensive.
I thought the food was subpar and the prices were through the roof.. Definately no where near as good as Wildfire, Bob Chinns, Gibsons, or any other steak resturant. I would never go back.
Report This ReviewService is very bad for a supposed "upscale" restaurant. Our food had to be sent back because it was burnt- and then came to the table again cooked even more! Very overpriced as well- don't waste your time or money.
Report This ReviewThe service here is less than poor...like scary. But the Flintstones-sized portions are good.
Report This ReviewHorrible experience. The food was dry and the service was less than poor.
