This tapas-focused Spanish spot named for Barcelona's popular pedestrian mall is from Michael and Natalie Moore, the original owners of Lincoln Park's Pasta Palazzo, founders of Lakeview's Twist and the couple behind Il Fiasco. (The latter once called this address home.) Expect tapas such as bacon-wrapped dates with red bell pepper sauce; grilled beef tenderloin with blue cheese cream sauce; and patatas con aioli, a garlicky potato salad. There's paella too, but plan ahead: It takes 45 minutes to prepare, and you'll need to bring a date to share it. The decor incorporates festive colors, including eye-catching blue mosaic tiles on the facade and burgundy velvet draped from the ceiling.
